Our mission is to reach children everywhere in Jordan and we welcome all collaborations.
We have worked with different NGO’s and initiatives like Madrasati and Petra National trust.

Girls aged 12 + to inspire STEM and close career gaps

Go Girls - STEM for Girls

Go Girls! STEAM empowerment activities and bootcamps

In Jordan and the Middle East, girls outscore boys at the age of 15 in STEM studies, however, their participation in STEM careers is less than 30 %. The Alchemist Lab aims to close the gender gap in STEM careers by encouraging young girls from rural areas and refugees’ camps to see STEM careers as an option.

The project was launched in 2015 with a generous support from the UK-Aid through the British Embassy in Amman.

It continued to impact more girls with the support of the private sector mainly Bank al Etihad and Cairo Amman Bank.

The initiative started, with hands on activities in schools in the villages of the south of Jordan, for the girls at schools aged 12 plus and then extended to villages from the north with more activities that inspire STEM and highlight career options and other life skills. We have also produced one video that highlights a woman role model in a technology career.

The initiative, then evolved to include teachers training for sustainability and was funded by Abdul-hamed Shoman Foundation - The Arab Bank.

We have impacted so far more than 100 teachers and over 1500 young girls.

Children and youth refugees

The Alchemist Lab at AlZaatari refugees’ camp

Our social impact mission focuses on offering the top-quality learning experiences to all children including refugees.

Jordan’s population is 10 million with around 2 Million refugees. AlZaatari camp is the biggest Syrian refugees in Jordan with more than 25000 children at school age.

In Dec 2019, and in collaboration with UNHCR and Blumont, The Alchemist Lab introduced its activities at the innovation space in the camp. The project impacted more than 500 children and 10 teachers so far.

The project included also equipping the space with Virtual reality kits, chemistry and engineering materials so the children can enjoy the activities inside the camp.
